Hopper was apparently killed in the finale of season 3, but a trailer for the fourth round has confirmed that he is alive and that he is the mysterious “American” held captive by the soviet Union.
The clip shows a Hopper razed to the ground as a prisoner in a Russian landscape covered in snow forced to perform work for the army.
Habour has now teased in speaking of the Deadline that fans can expect to learn a lot more about Chief Hopper in the fourth inning and it will be much darker than what we’ve seen before.
Teasing Hopper’s “deep backstory” , “Harbour said:” I am really excited to let people see these colors really deep in him.
“Each season, we see a different side of him. The last season was … a little more far-fetched, and I loved to play it.
“Now, it is painted in a palette a little darker – it is able to express some of these things really deep that we have … discussed with the boxes in season 2. “
The production of the fourth season of the drama series has been interrupted by the pandemic of sars coronavirus and it is not known when the show will resume and will be broadcast in streaming.
Harbour added: “We want to be operational as soon as possible. ”
Fans of Stranger Things will no doubt be hoping a meeting emotional between Hopper and his lover Joyce (Winona Ryder) and her adopted daughter Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).

They can also expect to see Harbor appear in the film Black Widow of Marvel Cinematic Universe later this year, in the face of Scarlett Johansson, resuming his role from the Avengers as Natasha Romanoffs.
Harbor plays the soviet response to Captain America in the movie Red Guardian.
The film also features Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle and Rachel Weisz.
Stranger Things 4 has not yet confirmed its release date.
