Company announcement, inside information June 11, 2020 at 8:30 am (CEST) Savosolar wins a tender for the delivery of two solar power plants to NewHeat in France
- Solar thermal power plant for district heating in the city of Narbonne 850 thousand euros
- Solar field on trackers for the solar heating system of the city of Pons ca. 700,000 EUR
Savosolar Plc has been selected as the preferred bidder to deliver two solar heating systems to NewHeat SAS in France. Newheat SAS will be the owner of the systems and will sell the heat to the district heating companies of Narbonne and Pons. The negotiations for the delivery contract are underway, the two parties aiming to finalize them in a few weeks. After completion of the delivery contracts, delivery of the two systems will begin in 2020. These projects will bring the number of Savosolar solar power plants in France to seven.
The size of the Narbonne solar power plant is approx. 3000 m2 and its value is 850 thousand euros. For Pons, which is very close to Bordeaux, the birthplace of NewHeat, Savosolar will supply the installed solar field, including the piping. The sensors will be installed on a one-axis tracking system following the sun, allowing maximum thermal power. The size of this field will be around 1700 m2 and the type of collector used will be Savo 15 DG (double glazing), for better performance at higher temperatures. The value of the Pons delivery for Savosolar is around 700 thousand euros.
Jari Varjotie, CEO of Savosolar: “After the delivery of the Condat system in 2018, we are very pleased to receive repeat orders from NewHeat, a developer of large-scale thermal solar projects very active and competent in France. The two systems will be connected to district heating, and we believe they will be excellent examples and references for many French cities and towns looking for sustainable heating solutions. Above all, we are happy that in Pons we will install our high performance and quality double glazed sensors on one axis Thermotrack trackers, specially adapted to Savosolar sensors, from Arcelor Mittal Projects Exosun, reproducing the solution delivered to Condat – and demonstrating the potential of this solution to produce significantly more energy from a limited area. ”
