“Riverdale” Star Cole Sprouse Denies The Allegation Of Sexual Assault

Actor Cole Sprouse has denied allegations circulating on Twitter that he sexually abused a woman at a party in 2013, after similar charges were also filed against three of its Riverdale costars Sunday.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Sprouse, who has already played in the series of Disney Channel The Suite Life of Zack & Cody with his twin brother, said all the allegations were false and harmful to victims of sexual assault.

“False accusations do massive damage to victims of actual assault. In addition, I would never seek to silence someone. I encourage you to look at people in the charges themselves, as the events detailed have been factually false, ” he said.

He added the anonymous accusations which seemed to be an attempt to “cancel” him and the other stars of the popular show.

“This seems to be the last request in a series of incidents that are seeking to cancel without reason, my cast mates and me,” he said.

Earlier in the day, a Twitter account with the handle @Victori66680029 accused Sprouse of ” fondle her breasts during a party in a series of tweets.

Fans of the Riverdale the actor quickly came to his defence, calling the allegations false and pointing out the similarities between the other accounts accusing her costars Vanessa Morgan, Lili Reinhart, and KJ Apa of sexual assault and harassment.

Morgan retweeted Sprouse comments, and in his own Twitter feed, Reinhart said that the actors were now considering legal action.

“I have always taken allegations of sexual assault seriously,” Reinhart said. “But it has been proven that this account was created specifically to create false stories about me and my cast. I can’t think of anything more twisted than a lie about the sexual assault. “

She added that she hoped that the incident didn’t discourage the true survivors to speak about their experiences.

“We are looking into the possibility of filing an action in court. This type of disease, the behavior can be detrimental to true survivors, ” she said. “It was incredibly triggering for me and scary because I’ve always supported the survivors and believed. ”

Some have also expressed skepticism about the accusations since they were made at the same time against the four members of the distribution of a single show.

People have also noted that the Twitter accounts behind the allegations have handles that follow the same format: the name of a woman followed by a group of numbers.

Later, the account that made claims against Reinhart has posted a tweet saying: “you see how easy it is to lie and you guys believe it? Vanessa Morgan and Kj Apa does not do jack shit. You believe anything, ” according to the screenshots of the tweet.

Fans also criticized the tweets, saying that making jokes and false accusations about sexual assault hurts the victims of sexual assault, and makes it more difficult for them to speak.

The tweets were published two days after, a woman named Gabby claimed in a viral Twitter post that the actor Ansel Elgort sexually assaulted her in 2014 when she was 17 years old. Elgort said they had a consensual relationship, and has denied the allegations.
