Report: the Toronto Blue Jays sign fifth drummer Zach Britton


The Toronto Blue Jays have signed outfielder/catcher Zach Britton, who was selected in the fifth round, 136th overall of the last week of the MLB Draft $97,500, according to MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis.

The slot value for the 136th selection was $410,000 while the Jays have had a total of $9,716,500 in the bonus pool money. Vanderbilt shortstop Austin Martin, the highly touted prospect from Toronto selected with the fifth overall selection, has a housing with a value of $6,180,700.

Britton, a 21-year-old perspective of Louisville, hit .322 with 12 rbi and a base percentage of .446, more than 17 games in 2020, his third year of college ball.
