The two children, Tylee, 17, and Joshua, also known as JJ, whose eighth birthday was the 23 of may, have disappeared in the course of the last year. Their mother, Lori Vallow, was arrested in February in Hawaii on a series of charges that included two counts of desertion and non-support of dependent children.
Mr. Daybell has been booked in the jail of the county of Fremont, chief Hagen said during a press conference on Tuesday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 July.
The case has attracted international attention because the mother of the children, and Mr. Daybell had of the religious beliefs of apocalyptic which isolate them of their families, according to parents. The two were married shortly after the death of each of their ex-spouses in the last year.
The former husband of Mrs. Vallow, Charles Vallow, was shot and killed in Arizona last July by the brother of Mrs. Vallow, Alexander Cox, who has stated to the police that his brother-in-law had been hit in the head with a baseball bat and that the shooting was in self-defense. Mrs. Vallow and her first husband were separated at the time.
The wife of Mr. Daybell has been found dead in October at his house in Idaho. The authorities first said that it seemed to be dead of natural causes, but his body was exhumed on December 11, after authorities began to wonder about the circumstances of his death and if it could be related to the disappearance of Tylee and Joshua.
