The loan of defender expire at the end of the month, but Saint-Etienne wants to keep it for the big match against Paris Saint-Germain
The Greens have reached the final of the Coupe de France before the football season French was interrupted by a pandemic of sars coronavirus.
While the Ligue 1 has been decided on a basis of points per game, with Saint-Etienne recorded a low 17th place, they can still qualify for the Europa League by beating Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the Coupe de France.
This contest should provisionally be held on 24 July, but the loan of Horses must be completed by 30 June.
Puel, however, is eager to keep it a few more weeks.
“William is out of contract at the end of the month,” he said during a press conference. “It takes a lot of fun to train with her team. We will see what can be done to keep it a little longer with us. ”
He added: “We finished last season with players who were coming to the end of the contract, with players who have been suspended during the season and have not been able to serve their suspensions.
“I think that it is regrettable that we have not taken into consideration in an exceptional case, with a gap of four months. They will be deprived of the final and we will be private.
“We also have players by the end of the contract, we will make the point. Loic Perrin is with us and can have the possibility of extension. We have made a bid for Yohan Cabaye, we are waiting for the response. ”
Saint-Etienne has been linked with a move for the young Adil Aouchiche Paris Saint-Germain, which is expected to leave the club at the end of his contract this summer.
