Outbreak of COVID-19 for the two communities of the hutterite faith in the RM of Maple Creek

On Wednesday night, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has reported outbreaks of COVID-19 in two communities in the hutterites of the RM of Maple Creek.Last week, two members of a rural household in the region were tested positive for the virus, and 14 other positive cases have been verified on Wednesday, said the SHA in a press release.

The contacts search is in progress, including the possible connections to travel inter-provincial in Alberta.

The SHA asked the residents to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19.

The symptoms include fever, cough, headache, muscle or joint aches, sore throat, chills, runny nose, nasal congestion, conjunctivitis, dizziness, fatigue, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite or taste and sense of smell, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing.

People with symptoms should call HealthLine 811 or a community health centre.
