Ontario Confirms 203 New COVID-19 Cases, 12 Additional Deaths


Ontario confirmed 203 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, down from 251 cases reported yesterday. This represents an increase of 0.6% from the previous day – the lowest growth rate in new cases since early March.It coincides with a record number of tests performed – 24,341.

A further 12 people died, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,487.

Of these total deaths, 1,952 were in long-term care, according to Public Health Ontario. The Ministry of Long-Term Care reports that 1,772 people who died were in long-term care – a gap attributed to a delay in reported deaths.

The provincial total of confirmed cases now stands at 31,544, of which 82.1% are considered resolved.
