No coronavirus-related deaths registered at Sunderland NHS Trust for fifth consecutive day

Figures released on Saturday 13 June by Public Health England show that there are no new cases of Covide-19 in Sunderland.

The total number of people tested positive for Wearside remains at 1,386, or 499.6 cases per 100,000 people.

This infection rate is the second highest of all large upper-level local authorities in England, and the sixth highest in the country if smaller local council areas are taken into account.

Across the Northeast, 10,437 cases have been recorded, an increase of nine since yesterday (Friday 12 June).

The latest figures released today by NHS England show that no other coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust for the fifth day in a row.

The trust last reported a death related to the disease on Monday, June 8.

The total number of deaths at the trust remains at 323.

A total of 1,397 people who tested positive for coronavirus died in Hospital Trusts in the Northeast, three more since yesterday.

Nationally, another 67 patients died in hospitals across England, bringing the total number of deaths to 27,927.

The patients were between 37 and 102 years old. Three patients, aged between 59 and 94, had no underlying health conditions.

Deaths are reported by trust only and there is no public breakdown of deaths per hospital.

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust

Total deaths at the trust: 246

Number of deaths announced on June 13: 1

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust

Total deaths at the trust: 133

According to the latest figures released by Public Health England on Saturday, June 13, there are 10,437 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Northeast – an increase of nine from Friday, June 12.
