NBAer J.R. Smith beats a man who he says has vandalized his truck

Longtime NBA player J.R. Smith said he beat a pillager in Los Angeles on Sunday after the man broke the window of his truck during protests in the area.

The video showing Smith hitting and hitting the man was published by TMZ Sports and Smith addressed the incident in another video.

“He didn’t know who he smashed the window at and he got his (expletive) whooping cough,” Smith said of the man.

Smith’s vehicle was parked in a residential area.

The video shows Smith hitting a man on the ground several times. When the man finally stood up, Smith delivered a powerful punch to the face of the man. The man starts to run.

“One of these (expletive) white boys didn’t know where he was going and broke my (expletive) window in my truck,” Smith said in his explanation video.

Smith, 34, said his manifestation of violence was solely due to the truck incident and was not linked to the racial tension that had been mounting since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on Monday.

Floyd, a black man, died after white officer Derek Chauvin knelt on the neck for several minutes.

“I have no problem with anyone and no one has any problem with me,” said Smith. “I have a problem with the (explanatory) system.”

Smith, who is currently a free agent in the NBA, ranks 13th in NBA history with 1,929 3 career points. He averaged 12.5 in 15 seasons with the New Orleans Hornets, Denug Nuggets, New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.
