Mum says she is “extremely upset” after a neighbor wrote to threaten to report her 16-month-old son to their landlord for “non-stop trampling”. Edinburgh’s mother, who wanted to remain anonymous, thought she received a welcome note after moving to a new apartment in Newhaven, Edinburgh Live reports.

But the manager of the hotel office was shocked when she realized that this was in fact a complaint against her toddler.

The letter said, “If you continue to allow the child to run around the clock, the officer will be contacted.

“It’s very noisy and it’s certainly evident on the ground – like it is trampling!”

Shocked Parent Says Message “Outrageous”

“There are two apartments below – please respect this is not fair, especially after 12 hour shifts. ”

The stunned parent had just moved to the area with her husband and son after being put on leave from work and his partner was fired.

The family hoped to take a new turn, having left an area where they suffered from “sleepless nights caused by the neighbors’ party, arguing and essentially showing antisocial behavior during the night.”

During their first week, she thought their new home was a “tropical” paradise, with her son able to play outside for most of the day due to the good weather.

Knowing that the coronavirus pandemic led many people to be kind to others and act more “solidly,” when she saw the message for the first time, she was convinced that it was a “little welcome letter”.

She now urges others to be nice to their neighbors

Mom says she now feels “under pressure” and wants her neighbor to just knock on her door for a socially distant conversation.

Sharing the letter in hopes of encouraging people to be kinder to each other, she said, “Despite being a mother or even a woman, all you need is to be a to be human to understand the fact that it is very difficult for me as a mother of a boy and a woman of 16 months to keep everyone positive and happy while I try to wash, clean, cook and unpack constantly.

“It is almost impossible not to allow a 16-month-old boy to run when he has no friends to play with, no gentle game to entertain him, and no daycare to maintain. He is also a child and children must play freely – now more than ever!

“I feel pressured and extremely upset since we received this letter because it is not even true – he sleeps all night from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. and we were literally outside most of the day in our first week.

“The tone of the letter explains what type of person they should be, but it is clearly a very outrageous thing to do to send an anonymous letter through our doorstep rather than just knocking on our door while respecting social distance.

“I want to share my story so that everyone can maybe rethink their actions and be nice to each other like the Scots love to do!” “
