At the end of each episode of Jimmy Kimmel LiveKimmel would be kidding, “Our apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time.” It was a recurring silly gag who turned into a real bit when Kimmel then girlfriend Sarah Silverman got the real Damon involved in a hilarious viral video “I’m F *** ing Matt Damon.” The joke shot in its own extended universe, with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner getting involved, and increasing production values given these sketches. It seemed like the bit had calmed down after a few years, but it turns out that even the pandemic coronavirus couldn’t stop Kimmel and Damon from reviving the gag.
During Kimmel’s June 18 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Livethe host announced from his home studio that he would be taking a break from the show and a “cavalcade of very nice and capable people will be filling” as guest hosts. One of those guests who will likely not be Matt Damon’s dark beast Kimmel, who walked out of the bedroom in the background and revealed that he had lived there for the last three months of his forties . Wearing a mask and swirling a drink, Damon Angry tells Jimmy that he is “back in three months, waiting to board.” But it does more than simmer in Jimmy borrowed a bathrobe and the re-reading of Tori Orthographe du sTORI Say: He and Jimmy wife – who sneaks out of the bedroom early after being done on the too, Damon said, to bring him back full circle to the Silverman video.
This sketch is fun and a little crazy, but it does question the way Damon is supposedly quarantined at Kimmel’s house and not a small town in Ireland, where he is supposedly stranded (I guess it’s a very good green screen / split screen effects where Damon and Kimmel are standing way too close to each other).
But one thing that will not be overlooked in Kimmel’s announcement is the comedian’s recently resurfaced footage on the The Man Showas far as Kimmel had a little subscription he wore blackface to usurp the identity of NBA star Karl Malone. While the film has been floating around for the past year, speech around her has revived in the wake of Kimmel’s late evening from colleague, Jimmy Fallon, apologizing for using blackface to usurp the identity of Chris Rock on Saturday Evening Live in 2000.
New episodes with guest rooms will start on Monday July 6, By 2020.
