A statement said, “Chai died of a crisis and neurological problems. This is likely related to the puppy’s skull which is not fully formed (see note on the front fontanel below).

“Chai died with a number of the health conditions described below, and the puppy was clearly not fully healthy and could potentially have had an infection and control it for some time before reaching Molly and Tommy. “
