Hhello and welcome to Telegraph Sport’s live coverage of the Premier League FA Cup quarter-final between Norwich City and Manchester United from Carrow Road. After Liverpool’s confirmation as Premier League champion on Thursday evening, the FA Cup has now taken on added importance. Of course, there is the little question of the relegation battle (in which one of today’s teams is found) and the race for the first four (in which the other is found) but, with the title race over, the FA Cup has a little extra spice.

But Norwich is struggling, there are no two ways. Their relegation to the Championship now seems inevitable and, although they are experiencing an injury crisis in the defensive ranks, they could see them at full strength today. They have very little to lose by doing so.

United, meanwhile, are on an impressive 13 game unbeaten streak across all competitions. The FA Cup represents one of their two remaining silverware opportunities this season, with the Europa League the other. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could therefore name a relatively experienced line-up this afternoon, taking into account in particular the form of Norwich in this competition.

Norwich manager Daniel Farke said his team had exceeded FA Cup expectations, but they were still hungry and it would be an extraordinary achievement if they arrived at Wembley.

Norwich defeated Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur on the way to the quarterfinals, and Farke believes his team is capable of going all the way.

“It is a great achievement to be in the quarterfinals, but we are hungry and we want to continue,” said Farke, whose team is at the bottom of the Premier League, at a virtual press conference.

“We want to achieve something magical. We did it when we won the Championship … last season and now we have the chance to create a miracle by staying in the league and winning the FA Cup. It would be an extraordinary achievement to go to Wembley. ”

Norwich has been largely dominated by United in their two Premier League clashes this season and Farke, 43, admits his team has a tough job ahead of them.

“Against no other team, we have struggled as much as against United. They were too good for us at home, and at Old Trafford, it was not our best game. We had no chance in those two games so we need a special performance, “he added.

Norwich is at the bottom of the Premier League standings, six points from the safety zone, but Farke believes a win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer United can help his team gain momentum in their battle for survival.

“Confidence always plays a big role in football. It’s not like we can push a button to beat the best clubs, ”he said.

“Once you’ve found the momentum, you’re able to beat the best. A good result and performances tomorrow could be beneficial for us in the championship. “
