Aubameyang Arsenal warning

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been warned about the challenge of replacing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is about to enter the final year of his contract.

Former Gunners forward Kevin Campbell said talkSPORT: “Aubameyang guarantees you targets, and if you sell your targets you are in a very difficult position to replace them.

“You will definitely have 20 goals in a season, minimum, so how are you going to replace it?

“If you don’t give him what he wants, it’s going to cost more to find someone to replace him, and even then, they’re not proven they can do it.

“He’s in the building! Yes, he’s going to be 31, but he’s still skinny, he’s still strong, he’s always fast – he’s the type of player you build around.

“I don’t know what they think about the club, but I would have signed up to him a year ago!”

Timo Werner last transfer

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann says he is not being given the opportunity of Timo Werner by refusing to play for the club in the Champions League in advance of a move to Chelsea.

“It’s not like I read somewhere that I’m not fighting for him,” Nagelsmann said.

“He knows how much I love him and what I think of him. That’s why he plays every week and also played when he played half an hour weaker than him.

“This is confirmation enough. However, some things happen beyond the coach’s wish. Each player has their own career and life plan.

“The transfer isn’t over yet, so we don’t need to talk about step two.

“If the first step is done, we will see how the Champions League continues. “

Timo Werner development

Timo Werner told RB Leipzig that he does not want to play in the Champions League in the quarterfinals for them.

The Germany striker, whose £ 53million pass to Chelsea is expected to be announced later this week, only wants to play Leipzig’s last three Bundesliga games and then move on to Stamford Bridge at the end of June.

The news is a blow to Leipzig, which eliminated Tottenham in their race for the quarterfinals in March and will find their opponent in the quarterfinals when the draw is made next month.

The final phase of the tournament will be played in August in Lisbon.

But according to sources close to Werner, 24, the decision is his because he does not want to risk any damage before starting his career with Chelsea.

Tottenham speaks

Tottenham are in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain free agent Thomas Meunier at the end of this season.

Belgian international return law Meunier is at the end of the contract with the champions of France at the end of this campaign and is one of several players, including striker Edinson cavani se and defender Thiago Silva, who was put on disposition.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho was followed Meunier, 28, for several months, and assigned the international Belgian as one of the men he wants to strengthen his defense.

With Tottenham having little or no money to spend this summer, they are looking for free agents or swap deals as a way to strengthen their team, but Meunier would like to add real class.

Chelsea Timo Werner announces

Chelsea have to overcome some minor problems, and announce Timo Werner arrival at Stamford Bridge this week.

Evening Standard claims everything is now in place for Werner to be exposed as a Chelsea player.

The Blues will pay Leipzig £ 53million and the 24-year-old will be the pen of a five-year contract worth £ 200,000-a-week.

Liverpool were closing on a move for international Germany before the coronavirus epidemic was affected their budget.

Which allowed Chelsea to sneak under the radar and get another transfer done before the window opened again.

Man Utd making Jadon Sancho decision

Manchester United are unwilling to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £ 100million asking price for Jadon Sancho, as they prefer to use multi-player money instead.

The Red Devils may finish looking elsewhere this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen Leon Bailey becoming a target, the Daily Mail claim.

United is currently not ready to pay £ 100m for the Dortmund star at a time when the coronavirus crisis is still changing the world.

It is claimed that, Unis have come to the decision as they prefer to use the funds of multiple players, rather than just a rectangle to deal with.

Bayer Leverkusen Bailey would represent a cheaper option than Sancho, with the winger valued at around 40 million gbp.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang update

Mikel Arteta believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may be prompted to extend his contract provided by the Arsenal of the importance of him and who can deliver the Champions League football he wants.

“We have had many discussions with Pierre, his family and his agent and I am quite positive, we can find the right agreement from all parties,” he said.

“It is our responsibility to make him feel that this is the next step in his career.

“He needs to feel valued. He needs to feel that he belongs to us and we want him, and then he really needs to believe that we can take this club forward the way we want to do it.

“He is going to be a key player to do this and at the moment, I am very happy with the way he has been performing and behaving.

“I have a very good relationship with him and we can talk a lot face to face, and as far as I know he is very happy at the club.”
