Leona Lewis revealed that she was told to “touch nothing” by a racist saleswoman just after winning The X Factor in 2006.

The 35-year-old singer, born to a white British mother and a black father of Guyanese descent, fought tears as she shared her experiences of racism amid global protests for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Bleeding Love hitmaker said she was shopping with her father Aural in west London when the shocking incident happened.

She said: “A few years ago, my father and I were on a shopping street in London.

“At the time, my management company was in Fulham, so we were out for a walk after a meeting.

“I didn’t know at the time that all the other customers were white. My father and I were the only blacks.
