Leah Remini says the Church of Scientology suffered a blow following rape charges brought against Danny Masterson.
Masterson, 44, was arrested on Wednesday for “forced rape of three women” over a two-year period. The charges were laid Tuesday.
The allegations against Masterson were revealed in 2017, when the victims, also Scientologists, said they reported the crimes to the Church.
Remini, a former Scientologist herself, presented two of the accusers in her “Scientology and the Consequences” docuseries to highlight an alleged pattern of crimes within the Church.
After the news of Materson’s recent arrest, Remini went to Twitter to share his excitement.
“Finally, the victims are heard in Scientology! She wrote online. “Praise the Lord!” ”
His tweet also contained a warning to his former peers: “This is just the beginning of Scientology, your days of getting away with it! ”
Remini, who has been a member of the Church since she was nine years old before leaving in 2013, has been one of her main critics in recent years.
She had previously criticized the organization for widening a gap between her father and herself, saying that she had not been informed of his death until a month after his death.
“Scientology took my father like a pawn against me and probably stole his very last ounce of heart that could have stayed with him. I am angry that Scientology found its personal weaknesses and emboldened it not with their beliefs but with their smear campaign against me, “she wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
The Church of Scientology did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
