Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon said earlier that purchases would be “a little different” before the lockout.
A number of stores opened their doors today, and shoppers were seen lining up outside Glasgow Primark early in the morning.
However, as the interior parts of the shopping centers were to remain closed until a provisional date of July 13, a number of street stores were unable to open certain branches.
These stores that have opened some stores from today:
- Marks and Spencer
- JD Sports
- The body shop
The Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC) professional organization, along with the Usdaw union and the Scottish government, urge people to follow five steps to “make thoughtful purchases.”
They asked buyers to line up carefully, maintain social distance, follow directions inside and outside stores, follow hygienic practices, and be respectful of staff.
David Lonsdale, Director of the CBC, said, “It has never been more important to play our part in keeping our cities and business destinations vibrant.
“Every visit we make helps support jobs in the retail sector and along the supply chain.
“Retailers are working tirelessly to create a safe shopping environment so that their customers can have the confidence to return to their favorite stores.
“Our shopping experience may be changing, but if we follow all the necessary social and hygienic measures and are considerate of those around us, then everyone will be better off. ”
We will continue to add to this list as more stores provide hours of operation information.
