Kylian Mbappe confirms FIFA 21 release date


EA Sports has released its first preview of the upcoming FIFA 21 video game and confirmed its worldwide release on October 9.The iconic game, which appeared in the early 1990s, will be available on October 6 for those who pre-order the Ultimate edition or Champions Edition, while EA Access (PS4 and Xbox One) and Origin Access (PC) will allow subscribers a first try of the game on October 1st.

In the promotional video released by EA Sports early Friday morning, fans get a taste of what’s to come, with PSG star Kylian Mbappe prominently suggesting he may be the next star of the franchise.

The trailer also includes Eden Hazard of Real Madrid, Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool as well as Steven Bergwijn of Tottenham, while there are also fan clips at Anfield and the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund.

There is still uncertainty as to the release date of the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X, but EA has announced a “dual right” system, whereby players will be allowed to upgrade their copy of PlayStation 4 to 5 or Xbox One to Series X for free when it becomes available.

For the moment, there is no word on the release of versions for Nintento Switch or Stadia.

EA Sport said there will be more details on gameplay, career mode, Volta, Pro and Ultimate Team clubs by August.

FIFA 20, which featured Hazard on its cover, has received mixed reviews from users, some criticizing the awkward gameplay, dynamic difficulty and balance issues.

However, it has always been one of the best-selling games of all time, and version 21 will no doubt also hit the shelves.
