Takashi Sato scored a nice TKO finish earlier this evening (Saturday June 27, 2020) at the UFC on ESPN 12 live on ESPN / ESPN + from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he hit Jason Witt, replacing at the last minute Jason Witt just 40 seconds into the first round.
Sato didn’t waste a lot of time putting a huge left hand that put Witt on the canvas. He went on with relentless and ground suits and delivered and finally forced the referee’s hand. Witt only had a few days to prepare for this fight, so the result was not entirely surprising.

With this performance, Sato returns to the UFC victory column after being submitted by Belal Muhammad last September. The Japanese veteran has always shown the power to climb the welterweight ranks, but it is his consistency that needs work. If Sato can put together a few more finishes for next year, it could become a great option in the top 15.
