The Duchess of Cambridge is “much like Prince Philip” in the way she supports Prince William, said a royal expert.

Royal biographer Penny Junor compared Kate Middleton’s relationship with the Duke of Cambridge, 38, to the Duke of Edinburgh, 99, and the Queen, 94.

She added that even if the mother of three ‘A lot to say, elle she‘ doesn’t overshadow ’her husband.

“She never tries to outdo it in any way,” said Penny, speaking to People Magazine.

“I think Kate is a bit like Prince Philip supporting the Queen. She does not overshadow William but still has a lot to say.

Royal author Sarah Gristwood went on to say that part of the Duchess of Cambridge’s strength as a future queen lies in her relationship with Prince William.

She added that Kate, who resumed her royal duties with a visit to a local garden center in Norfolk on March 19, is a “support figure” to Prince William.

She explained, “In a sense, hers and William’s was a modern royal marriage, in the sense that it was a love marriage.

“But in another, it was out of date. Above all, she appears as a support figure for her husband.

Kate’s visit to the local garden center last Friday marked the Duchess’ first official engagement since the lockdown started on March 23.

During the visit, the royal revealed that she and William had been on “food shopping” trips for the past few weeks, but were otherwise at home with their three children, Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two.

She said the children grew tomato plants and learned the importance of spending time outside.
