Kate Garraway’s cameo at Salisbury Poisonings as husband Derek fights the coronavirus


Kate Garraway made a surprise appearance in The Salisbury Poisonings, leaving her emotional fans.The presenter from Good Morning Britain appeared in the BBC drama while a clip from her report on the 2018 incident was watched by one of the characters.

The cameo came as Kate’s husband Derek Draper continues to fight for his life while fighting the coronavirus.

Kate, 53, said in the GMB clip: “Charlie Rowley and Dawn Sturgess, both in their forties, were found unconscious in a house in Amesbury, Wiltshire.

“They remain in critical condition after being exposed to the substance Novichok. ”

Her fans were moved after seeing her on television for the first time since she took stock of her 52-year-old husband’s battle with COVID-19.

Kate’s GMB co-stars Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid said she hoped for a miracle.

Derek, the father of Kate’s two children, Darcey, 14, and Billy, 10, has been in intensive care for weeks after contracting a coronavirus.

He was placed in an induced coma to fight the virus on a ventilator.

Kate said her husband is now free from the virus, but her battle is far from over.

The Salisbury Poisonings is a BBC drama based on the assassination attempt on Sergei Skripal, a former Russian spy who acted as a double agent for the British intelligence service, and his daughter Yulia.

The three-part series centers on Tracy Daszkiewicz, director of public health at the Wiltshire Council, as she recounts the horrible real-life events that saw police and government working to keep thousands of people from being exposed to the lethal agent Novichok.
