Meghan Markle’s former best friend, Jessica Mulroney, is said to be “concerned” about the future of their friendship after the duchess made contact with her daughter’s birthday.
Mulroney, 40, hosted a party for her youngest daughter Ivy’s seventh birthday on June 12, but this raised fears that her friendship with the Duchess was “over for good” when Markle didn’t reach out .
Ivy had been a bridesmaid at Markle’s wedding, Mulroney’s twins Brian and John also playing page boys.
“They had barely spoken and Jess agreed that her husband Ben could confiscate his phone because she needed a break from technology,” a source told The Sun.

“She was really worried when she heard nothing from Meghan on Ivy’s birthday and worried that the friendship was definitely over, she was very upset by the whole situation.
“Meghan obviously can’t be seen in public with her, she has to cool him down for now, but it will be surprising if she doesn’t get back in touch because Jess knows a lot. “
Markle is said to have distanced himself from Mulroney after the stylist threatened to sue black influencer Sasha Exeter when the pair argued over white privilege on Instagram.
Exeter says Mulroney “offended” a “generic call to action” that she posted on her Instagram story weeks ago and that the pair then started to argue.
She said the Canadian stylist, who became famous for her friendship with Markle, shared a series of unpleasant messages in which she threatened to sue Exeter.
Mulroney, a mother of three, admitted “I was wrong” after battling the lifestyle blogger following the protests by George Floyd.
However, she was quickly sacked from ABC’s Good Morning America and had her reality show I Do, Redo canceled.
She also made the decision to walk away from a charity she founded with her sister-in-law following the outrage.
Mulroney is now said to have hired lawyers, image experts and public relations crisis teams to help put the backlash of her recent row behind and organize a comeback.
“She will try to prove herself, I understand, but it is absolutely the wrong thing to do,” the source told The Sun.
“This is not the time for that, with everything going on in the world, nobody cares about your social media, she is a little addicted.
“Meghan obviously can’t be seen in public with her,” said a source about their friendship. Markle, 38, first met Mulroney, 40, while filming legal dramas Suits in Toronto

“She’s constantly on her phone, responding to all of the negative comments on her Instagram, chatting with people, and then deleting her responses, we’ve seen it over and over again,” they added.
“She needs to be quiet and just be a mom for a while, I hope people start to forget about it. “
Mulroney’s husband Ben was also affected by the aftermath.
On Monday, 44-year-old TV host and son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney announced that he was leaving his CTV entertainment program “etalk” in the middle of his wife’s race line.
He said he would “immediately” leave the show he has been in for 18 years.
“I hope this new anchor will be black, native or a person of color, and they can use this important platform to inspire, lead and make change,” he added.
The source told The Sun that it caused friction between the couple.
‘Yes definitely. I know even before there has been a lot of gossip about it, “they said.
“There was an obvious tension between Jess and her sister-in-law Vanessa for a while. And that’s just not how an established family wants to be seen.

Markle, 38, remained “absolutely mortified” with Mulroney’s “muffled” threats to Exeter and can no longer “be associated with her,” close friends told DailyMail.com.
“Meghan is absolutely mortified to have been dragged into this complete mess. She said Jessica was by no means a racist, but the way she handled the situation (with the fashion influencer) was dull and heartbreaking, “said a close friend of Meghan.
“Meghan said that friends mirror friends and that because of what is at stake, she can no longer be associated with Jessica, at least not in public. She has to do what she has to do to preserve her dignity and her own reputation, “they added.
Markle first met Mulroney during the filming of the legal drama Suits in Toronto, and the stylist then attended his marriage to Prince Harry in 2018 – but Meghan would now have ended their friendship for good.
An insider told Page Six that their relationship was “already breaking up,” because Meghan felt that Jessica was “pursuing a career in friendship.”
Speaking on page six, the source said, “The row of white liens really gave Meghan the excuse she was waiting for to permanently cut Jess.
“I don’t know what the tipping point was, but Jess has been away for a while.
“Their friendship is certainly not what it was. And really, how can you have such a close friendship when a person essentially builds on friendship?
The scandal brings intense embarrassment to Markle, who devoted his brief time as a royal to promoting social good and was a lifelong racial equality activist.
