IOS 14 copy-paste detection forces TikTok to remove the anti-spam function

TikTok has rolled out an update that would prevent the app from accessing the clipboards of iOS users, according to The telegraph. See, iOS 14 comes with a new feature that alerts users if an app copies and pastes text from their clipboards. A number of people who have gained early access to the mobile operating system have discovered that the shortened video application would copy and paste what they type as often as 1 to 3 keystrokes depending on the alerts they receive.

In response to complaints, TikTok said The telegraph that the prompts are “triggered by a feature designed to identify repetitive and unwanted behavior”. The spokesperson added: “We have already submitted an updated version of the application to the App Store removing the anti-spam feature to eliminate any potential confusion. TikTok is committed to protecting user privacy and to being transparent about the operation of our application. “
