Chai tea is made from a combination of black tea, turmeric and other spices.
Unlike regular tea, which is brewed with water, chai tea is traditionally brewed using hot water and hot milk and can be sweetened to varying degrees.

Medical News Today said: “Curcumin has low bioavailability, which means the body has difficulty accessing and absorbing the compound.

Help with liver damage
In a study with the U.S. National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, turmeric extract and its active compound, curcumin and how it can help with liver damage has been studied.
The study noted: “Curcumin, a major active component of turmeric, has already been reported to relieve liver damage.
“We hypothesized that turmeric extract and curcumin protect the liver by reducing oxidative stress, inhibiting lipid peroxidation.”
The study found that curcumin can protect against liver damage and that the potential benefits of the liver and gallbladder of curcumin include increasing the production of digestive fluid bile while protecting liver cells from damage caused by the chemicals associated with bile.
