Germany coronavirus reproduction rate skyrockets after the explosion at the plant of meat

The value indicates how the virus is spreading in the country. A reproductive rate of 1 means that each person with coronavirus will infect an average of one other person.

The data published by the Robert Koch Institute puts Germany R-number of 2.88. Chancellor Angela Merkel has repeatedly said that Germany needs to keep the number below 1 if the country is to effectively fight against the virus.

In May, Germany R-the number had dropped to 0.75. The Robert Koch Institute has linked its flight to a local epidemic of coronavirus in a meat processing plant in the town of Gutersloh.

The authorities Gutersloh announced on Sunday that they had recorded 1,331 cases positive of the Toennies meat processing plant.

“Since the number of cases in Germany are generally low, these households have a relatively strong influence on the value of the reproduction number,” the RKI said Sunday.

Germany has recorded 191,657 total number of cases of coronavirus and 8,897 death, according to Johns Hopkins University.

This month’s epidemic has put Germany in the industry of meat processing under a more thorough examination. Outbreaks at plants in Design in Lower Saxony and Coesfeld in North Rhine-Westphalia were presented in May.
