France to lift border controls for European travelers on June 15


PARIS – France will lift border restrictions for EU travelers on June 15, France’s interior and foreign ministers said on Friday.

“Given a favorable development of the health situation in France and in Europe and in accordance with the recommendations of the European Commission … France will lift on June 15 (0:00 am) all traffic restrictions at its internal European borders (land, air and maritime), implemented to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, “the statement said.

Travelers from Member States of the European Union, as well as Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland and the Vatican may also enter French territory without restrictions, according to the press release.

By way of reciprocity, restrictions including around fifteen days on arrival will continue to apply at the borders with Spain and the United Kingdom, he added.
