France reports more than 100 deaths per day up slightly



Tuesday brought further improvement to France’s battle with the coronavirus, with infections falling significantly and deaths remaining low.

According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health, a total of 85 deaths in hospitals were recorded on Tuesday, an increase of 54 cases from those reported on Monday, while 23 deaths were reported in nursing homes . To date, the total number of deaths in hospitals is 18,590 and the total in nursing homes is 10,350.

Since the start of the outbreak, the number of deaths in France has risen to 28,940 with cases of infection rising slightly to 151,325, an increase of 766 cases from the previous day.

The number of hospitalizations fell Tuesday with cases to 14,028, down 260 patients the day before. People in intensive care fell to 1,253, down from 49 patients on Monday.

Despite the severity of the virus, most people experience mild symptoms and recover. Since the start of disease registration, 68,812 people have recovered to France from the disease and returned home.

Originally from China in December, COVID-19, the coronavirus disease, has spread to 188 countries and regions around the world. The United States, Brazil, Russia and certain European countries are currently the most affected.

The pandemic has killed more than 377,000 people worldwide, with total infections reaching more than 6.32 million, while more than 2.72 million people have recovered from the disease, according to figures compiled by the University American Johns Hopkins.
