French officials arrested six people near the Italian border with France in the theft of a mural by street artist Banksy who commemorated the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks in 2015, sources told Agence France Presse Saturday. The coin was stolen in 2019. Detectives finally found it in a barn on a remote farm in the Abruzzo region of Italy earlier this month.

The play was originally spray painted on an emergency exit door of the Bataclan Theater to commemorate the Islamic extremist attack of November 2015, which took place during an Eagles of Death Metal concert. The stencil artwork commemorates the deaths of 90 spectators. But, in January 2019, the painting was stolen by a team of hooded thieves.

Two were charged with theft while the other four were charged with concealing theft, and the six were held in pre-trial detention, the AFP said.
