Former Port Elgin Pumpkinfest President Faces Child Luring Charges


Former Port Elgin Pumpkinfest president Brad Scott faces charges of child luring and child pornography.

Peel Regional Police, with the help of Waterloo Regional Police, arrested Scott last Thursday.

Internet child exploitation officers investigated a suspect from June 17, 2019 to June 11, 2020, accusing him of having contacted a person he believed was under the age of 16.

Police say the suspect used the following display and usernames on various messaging and social media platforms: John with a smiling emoji; John Snyde, MaverickKW79 and [email protected]

Scott charged with attracting a child to invite him or her to sexual contact, attracting a child for distributing sexually explicit material, and attracting a child for attempted pornography juvenile.

Following the allegations, the Port Elgin Pumpkinfest Board of Directors immediately removed Scott from his role as President.
