Emmerdale Boss John Whiston has hinted that a shock murder may soon take place in the Dales.
Appearing on Sky News, Whiston explained how new scenarios may need to be changed due to social isolation.
“In terms of everything that normally happens in soaps, people kissing or killing each other, I think we will have to socially outpace the murders,” he said.
“And we had one coming Emmerdale very soon. “
Last week, producers Jane Hudson, Kate Brooks and Laura Shaw also explained how they had to modify their writing to take into account the new shooting protocols.
“We are finding ways to do it. Some stories we may have to remember a little bit, but we have an upcoming scenario where we are just too far to change it, “said Hudson.
“I can’t say too much, but it will be a challenge to see how we make it work. But it’s our job to make it work. This is our most difficult area, for sure. “
Emmerdale returned to filming late last month for a series of six special “lockdown” episodes.
The lockout episodes will begin with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) isolating with Aaron (Danny Miller) while they are both struggling with heartache, while newlyweds Sam Dingle (James Hooton) run into his wife Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) while they are left alone.
Emmerdale is currently broadcast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m. on ITV.
