Eamonn Holmes hailed the controversial Piers Morgan, the “savior of breakfast television”, but feared he could leave at any time. The former GMTV host said ITV’s Good Morning Britain “was going in the wake of the vanilla madness” until Piers joined.

But Eamonn said her 55-year-old ITV day colleague – who co-hosted with Susanna Reid – could easily walk away from the high-level concert.

He said, “He came over there and shook him.

Piers Morgan is anything but bland on GMB

“He was the right person in the right place at the right time.

“And so far so good.

“But the problem with Piers, and probably why a lot of people are watching it, is that you don’t know how long it will last, you don’t know how long it will last.

Eamonn says Piers is good for morning TV

“You don’t know when he will have enough or whatever. ”

Earlier this year, the outspoken host confirmed that he had signed a contract until 2021.

Eamonn, 60, also praised BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker.

He told journalist Rodney Edwards on the Human Nature podcast: “I’m somewhere between Dan and Piers. “
