Delta Airlines will not fly to Ottawa this summer as the airline faces a lower passenger volume due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The American airline has announced that it will suspend service to Ottawa International Airport indefinitely as of June 21.
Delta is also suspending operations in 11 US markets starting July 8 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a statement, the airline says it is suspending operations at 11 airports in the United States, “while customer volumes are being significantly reduced to help cut costs” as it alleviates the COVID-19 crisis.
Delta announced an 85% reduction in its flight schedule in the second quarter, which includes 80% reductions in domestic capacity in the United States and 90% internationally.
According to the Ottawa International Airport website, Delta offers non-stop flights to Detroit and New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
