Corus acquires original content from Peacock, owned by NBC, in Canada


Corus Entertainment has announced that it will house the original programming for NBC Peacock.Details regarding the platforms on which the content will be available are quite scarce, but he mentions that Tina Fey Girls5Eva and other notable shows will be presented at Corus in Canada.

The list of television programs mentioned is as follows:

  • Girls5Eva – From the executive producer, Tina Fey.
  • Dr Death – Based on the successful podcast.
  • AngelyneWith Emmy Rossum
  • Brave New World – An adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s classic novel.
  • Rutherford Falls – Created by Ed Helms, Sierra Teller Ornelas and Mike Schur.
  • A.P. Bio An already existing NBC comedy.
  • Punky Brewster – With Soleil Moon Frye.
  • Saved by the Bell – With Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley.

There are still many questions about how Canadians can view this content. Corus offers a streaming service called StackTV, so it’s possible that these shows will end up there. On the other hand, they could just play on regular Corus TV channels via bundles of traditional TV channels.
