It’s the transportation group sets its sights on expanding its rail capacity beyond Singapore.
RATP Dev is the international operating arm of the French freight forwarder for the RATP Group, while Alstom is one of the French transport and infrastructure companies.
Together, the transport companies will submit bids for the next Lines 16 and 17 of the GPE project, which covers a total of 200 km of automatic metro, they said in a joint statement yesterday.
GPE is a group of new rapid transit lines under construction in the Ile-de-France region, the France region. It ranks as one of the largest in Europe, said ComfortDelGro in a regulatory update yesterday.
The preselection of submissions for the GPE Lines 16 and 17 closed on Thursday.
Singapore transport group will participate in the offer through ComfortDelGro Transit – a new subsidiary set-up.
ComfortDelGro chairman of Mfr Jit Poh called the move a “significant” step in deepening the group’s vision of expanding rail capabilities beyond Singapore. The group has been operating light and heavy rail in the Republic for 17 years, amassing strong capacities, he added.
“As a group, ComfortDelGro will continue to seek opportunities worldwide, particularly in countries where we already operate as working to grow our portfolio rail,” Mr. Lim said.
ComfortDelGro shares closed 0.62 percent down to $ 1.61 yesterday.
