Chuck Liddell eased tensions at Huntington Beach as protesters took to the streets to march against the illegal murder of George Floyd.

A California demonstration escalated over the weekend, and Black Lives Matter fans were surprised to see who stepped forward to make sure things didn’t get violent. Huntington Beach is known for its sandy beaches and blue skies, but many people took time out of their “Safer-At-Home” schedules to come together to protest the murder of George Floyd and others who been victims of systematic racism. UFC fighter Chuck Liddell was one of several protesters, and at one point the Iceman was caught talking to protesters as tensions began to rise.

“It’s good to see people defending their city,” Chuck Liddell told reporters. “It’s terrible. Violence begets violence. Violence does not help anyone. We all know that what happened was wrong. Everyone I know thinks it was wrong. It’s hard to watch. It doesn’t help. Destroying cities, destroying people, hurting people is not good for anyone. Hey, protest whatever you want; just do it peacefully.

In a video shared by a news station, Liddell is seen playing the role of peacemaker while a person even pushes physically against the champion fighter. While riots and looting broke out in many cities across America, Chuck Liddell wanted to make sure that the march message did not fall by the wayside due to violent acts. Look below.
