Even Bryce Dallas Howard turns to his father for advice.

The 39-year-old actress recently made his debut as a director of feature-length film with the Apple TV+ documentary “Dads,” focusing on fatherhood, modern, which includes an overview of his life with his father, Ron Howard.

Howard spoke to Fox News about how the film came to be, and recalled his father, an oscar-winning director himself, offering advice.

“I’ve been open to sharing in a more personal manner, to our family, from the get-go, because my grandfather had died, and a large part of his legacy was that he was like a father and a grandfather and a great-grandfather,” Howard recalled, noting that, according to her, images that she had already filmed.

“My father was like, ‘No. Non, non, non, non, non, non, non. Nobody wants to see the movie that is Bryce saying, “I love my daddy’, ” she recalled her father saying. “I have heard of him, but while I was filming, I kept saying, we need a waiting father. We need to see a father go through this transformation, from not having a child to having a child. ”

Fortunately for Howard, someone near and dear to her was a father-to-be: his brother.

“When I found out that my brother was going to have a baby with his wife, I was like, ‘would you be in my documentary?’ And they graciously said yes, ” the ” Jurassic World “, the star said. “It just made sense at this point [to include Ron]simply if nothing else, to contextualize my brother the story of my grandfather and finally my father. ”

Bryce said she was inspired to make the film as a ” product of generations of super-committed, engaged, present fathers. ”
