Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United named most valuable midfielder in world football


Bruno Fernandes has been named the most valuable midfielder in world football after his superb start to life at Manchester United.The Portuguese international has gained the upper hand since he joined Sporting’s Old Trafford in January, his form having earned him being named Premier League player in February before the action was stopped by the coronavirus pandemic .

And the 25-year-old’s impact is reflected in the latest transfer value list from the CIES Football Observatory, Fernandes being among the best midfielders in the world.

The list presents the 100 players from the five major leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1) with the highest estimated transfer values, according to the algorithm of the CIES Football Observatory.

Fernandes is not only ranked as the most valuable offensive midfielder in the latest estimates, but the most valuable midfielder overall, the estimate placing it at 104.9 million euros (around 93 , £ 6 million).

This places him in front of Mason Mount in Chelsea (102.5 million euros) and Frenkie de Jong in Barcelona (102.1 million euros).

PSG Kylian Mbappe tops the list for all positions, with an estimate by the Frenchman estimated at 259.2 million euros.
