You may have to watch for the plume toilet if you are using a public facility.A new study from China found the flushing toilet could potentially send infectious particles into the air and onto the toilet seat and upstairs bathroom, leading to possible transmission of COVID-19.

The study authors found, aerosol particles can shoot out of the toilet bowl at a speed of up to five meters per second.

And even after the first wave, particles that have escaped from the toilet bowl will continue to spread through the air.

Thus, users are advised to place the toilet seat down before flushing.

No cover? Researchers say that if it does, just be alert, and clean the seat before using it and wash your hands when you are doing it.
