Ten new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in British Columbia in the past 24 hours, and one more has died from the virus.
The new cases bring the total number of positive tests in the province to 2,878, but 159 active cases remain. This is the lowest number of active cases seen in British Columbia. since March.
No new cases have been confirmed in the inland health region, where active cases remain one.
The recent death from the virus occurred in the Vancouver coastal region. This brings the total number of deaths in British Columbia. to 174.
No new virus outbreaks were reported on Friday, and the Nicola Lodge long-term care home in Port Coquitlam was officially declared complete. Outbreaks remain in five long-term care homes and one acute care facility.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister John Horgan announced British Columbia. will enter phase 3 of its reopening plan, which will see more businesses reopen and more travel across the province.
