Bags filled with human remains have been discovered along the coastline of Seattle, announced Friday night the police.
The discovery included “several bags” and at least one was in the water, said the Seattle police department in a press release.
Officers responded to a park along Elliott Bay, on a point in front of the sea front and main town and the Pike Place market, after someone reported a “bag suspect on the beach,” said the department.
Detectives responded after officers have determined that the contents remained, police said.
The identity of the dead or the number of bodies possibly involved was not known.
The medical examiner’s office King county was working with detectives.
“This remains an active investigation and ongoing,” said the department in Seattle.
