The British indie rock hang a milestone because the music video for “Do I Wanna know?” explosions beyond a billion views on YouTube, seven years after it was transferred to the streaming platform.
“Do I Wanna know?” appeared on the Sheffield outfit from the fifth album AM which, like all their press releases before him, the No. 1 hit in the UK AM also dug the British album BRIT Awards 2014 trophy.
Directed by David Wilson with animation from Blinkink, the stars in the sequence are fluctuating soundwaves, similar to those appearing on the album cover.
The group is on a serious note. All six of their albums have passed the UK Official Albums Chart, dating back to their very hype debut Whatever People Say I Am, It Is What I Am Not from 2006, through their latest LP, 2018 The Tranquility Of The Base Of Hotel & Casino.
“Do I Wanna know?” peaked at # 11 in the UK and is one of the 15 Arctic Monkeys impact singles in the UK top 40 singles. Also, he scored a Grammy awards in the category best rock band.
