During WWDC 2020, Apple announced that it will be switching to its own silicon chips for its Mac computers. Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that the first machines powered by the new Silicon chip will be shipped by the end of this year, ending almost 15 years of reliance on Intel for the supply of transformers for its flagship product , laptops and desktops. Cook also said the transition to his new chip is slated to last two years.
Tim Cook believes that silicon chips will usher in a new era for a product line that propelled the company up in the 1980s and its resurgence in the late 1990s.
“Silicon is at the heart of our material,” said mr. Cook during a virtual speech registered at the Cupertino, California company, seat of its annual developer conference review. “A world-class silicon design team is a game changer.”
The silicon switch brings the company’s online Mac to the iPhone and iPad, which already use Apple-designed chips. Cook said Apple expects the transition Mac to take about two years, and that Apple still has a few Intel computers in its pipeline that it will support for “several years.”
But the move will give software developers for Apple’s largest pool of third-party applications – those built for iPhones and iPads, new access to its laptops and desktops for the first time. Apple software chief Craig Federighi said that for these offerings, “most of the apps all work, with no changes from the developer” on the new Macs. He also said that the “vast majority” of existing applications for Intel computers can be changed to work in “a few days”.
The news arrived at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference. The conference has gained new significance since paid services sold through the App Store have become central to the company’s product growth as consumers have slowed the growth of iPhone upgrades. Apple takes a 15 to 30 percent cut from developer sales through the App Store, which is the only way to distribute software on Apple mobile devices.
These fees, and Apple’s strict application of the review process, have been subject to antitrust control in the United States and Europe, where regulators last week released an official probe into the society. In what appeared to be recognition of some of its critics, Apple said it would allow users to select non-Apple applications as default applications for tasks like email and web browsing. iPhones and iPads.
But the developers still gravitate to the Apple platform because it is lucrative, with a user base that is willing to spend money on paid apps. The annual developer of the conference, which will be held online this year, for the first time because the new coronavirus, is where Apple often announces access to new hardware capabilities, such as special tools for l intelligence and augmented reality.

The system works with phones running the current iOS 13 operating system so owners can start using it when BMW vehicles arrive. Apple has more cars than working with the system will hit the market next year.
Apple has also updated its mapping application with information on electric vehicle charging stations, working with BMW and Ford Motor Co to display stations compatible with the user of the vehicle.
Apple has also added new privacy protections, saying it would leave them only to users to share their approximate location with application developers and that it would need those developers to ask for permission before d user sharing data with other applications and websites. Apple also said it would need the privacy and security of the label, which is akin to food label nutrition facts, to be presented to users before downloading applications.
In addition to that, Apple also announced Features App of Clips and Library apps on iOS 14, new iMessage and Memoji updates in iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur, Apple Maps updates, Face Sharing on Apple Watch, Apple Pencil updates update, Spatial Audio functionality for AirPods, the new Watch handwashing app, among other things.
