England International, Alex Lozowski will spend a season on loan in France. He will spend next year with the giants of the Top 14 Montpellier. Lozowski will then return to Saracens with his side hopefully back in the Premiership.

Alex Lozowski commits to Saracens despite France transfer

Despite deciding not to play for Saracens in the Championship Lozowski has committed his long-term future to the club. He has signed a two-year contract that will commit him to the club until 2022.

Lozowski commented on the joy of staying at Saracens. He said;

“I’m really happy to have secured my future with Saracens,”

Mark McCall was equally delighted that the England International had committed his future to the club. He said: “We strongly believe that there is much more to come and we look forward to helping it realize its undoubted potential.”

France to help long-term prospects in England

A number of Saracens players will be playing their trade at different clubs next season. These include: Ben Earl And Max Malins, players who are on the cusp of international honours. It is clear that there is not much to gain from Lozowski playing a season in the Championship. Hence a gesture to gain more experience.

The move could spark a new lease of life in Lozowksi which is England’s career has stalled somewhat in recent months. Although he has always been impressive in a Saracens jersey, he has not quite translated that on the international stage.

This decision will certainly hurt its international prospects in the immediate future. This is because players in France are not eligible for the national team. However, Lozowski hopes that the experience gained abroad will be more beneficial in the long run.

It will be a few interesting months for Saracens and other Premiership clubs as it has been announced that the season is back on 15 August. Uncertainty surrounds what happens through the game and it’s no different for Lozowski.
