- A former WWE champion and a recent intercontinental champion back at WWE Backlash 2020?
- Who could come back to the WWE Backlash PPV this Sunday?

WWE Backlash 2020 will take place this Sunday at the Performance Center, which will be the third WWE PPV to be held at the Performance Center. WrestleMania 36 and Money in the Bank (other than classification matches) took place at the Performance Center earlier this year.
Backlash, who returns to the WWE PPV list after disappearing last year, will see up to five title games (more could be added during the week). Drew McIntyre will defend his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley, while Braun Strowman will put the Universal Championship at stake against The Miz and John Morrison in a handicap match.
Asuka will defend her RAW Women’s title against Nia Jax, while Andrade will have a chance to regain the US title when he faces Apollo Crews. Women’s team titles will also be defended on the show as Bayley and Sasha Banks face off against former champions, The IIconics, and Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.
The WWE Backlash PPV could be built into the next big PPV, SummerSlam, and we could see some stars returning to Backlash 2020:
# 5 Samoa Joe
This is technically not a return, as Samoa Joe is seen every week on RAW as a commentator. Joe, however, has not participated in a WWE television game since February. The former U.S. champion has been suspended for a welfare violation, but has not been brought back to the ring since then.
Last month, there was a report that Joe was not allowed to fight and that he could be a permanent RAW commentator to replace Jerry “The King” Lawler. But, if allowed, Backlash could be a great way for him to get back into the ring.
Joe could step out from behind the comment desk and attack a superstar to set up a new feud and signal his return to competition in the ring.
