2 shot at Amazon warehouse in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – At least two people were killed on Monday afternoon in an Amazon Fulfillment Center on the north side of Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Filming took place around 2 p.m. on Pecan Park Road.

It is unknown whether the shooting took place inside or outside the establishment.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Service said two people were injured in the shooting and one was seriously injured. Sources told News4Jax that at least one person has died.

A photo taken by an Amazon employee and sent to News4Jax appears to show broken glass in one of the break rooms. The employee said it was caused by a bullet.

Rescue teams and crime scene gangs filled the parking lot of the order processing center after the shooting.

What appeared to be a JSO helicopter was seen flying over the facility and the surrounding woodland area.

People claiming to be family members of Amazon employees at the facility said on social media that the employees were locked inside.

JSO is scheduled to hold a press conference to give more details about the shooting at some point on Monday evening.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
