Byron surpassed Timmy Hill with seven laps stays at Dover International virtual Speedway, where NASCAR was to actually race on Sunday, to win again on the iRacing platform. The Hendrick Motorsports driver has always been the best of NASCAR professionals in simulated racing.

Alex Bowman won last week at the Talladega Virtual Superspeedway, so Hendrick pilots have now won four consecutive iRacing events.

“I enjoyed this iRacing series, but I’m definitely ready to get into my real car,” said Byron. “Racing anything, whether it’s a covered car or something with an engine, will give you confidence if you win. “

NASCAR ANNOUNCES RETURN TO TRACK ON MAY 17

He said that in all his years of using iRacing, he had never participated in such competitive events since NASCAR launched the esports invitation series after the stock car series was suspended on March 13.

Denny Hamlin clinched pole position in qualifying, but NASCAR managed to apply an invert – a glitch last week prevented the top 10 from tipping over before the race started – so Ross Chastain made it to the top starting spot .

Hamlin had his run ruined last week when his daughter accidentally turned off her simulator screen with a remote control she held while racing. He did be sure to hide all remotes before Sunday’s race, but after an incident with John Hunter Nemechek, he deliberately seemed destroyed by Nemechek later in retaliation.

He highlighted late caution and a restart with nine laps to go and Hill leading Byron to the green flag.

Byron didn’t have to use a lash – the one Hill used on Byron to win the virtual race at Texas Motor Speedway – and easily passed him inside with seven laps to go.

Hill finished second and was sometimes shown run with your cat on his wheel.

“William did a great job with this iRacing invitation,” said Hill. “I just wish I could get another victory. I have had tremendous support from all members of the racing community through this; it was an explosion and really brought us together. We really enjoyed running all of these races, but I can’t wait to come back and see everyone’s faces. “

NASCAR to complete iRacing series next Saturday in North Wilkesboro, a deserted island in North Carolina Speedway, a track last raced by the national series in 1996. Overflowing with weeds and clearly overlooked, Dale Earnhardt Jr. last year led a group of volunteers to clean up the speedway so that it could be mapped for use in iRacing.

Although the simulated version of North Wilkesboro is not yet publicly available on the iRacing platform, it will be the virtual host of the NASCAR finals. Then it’s back to reality for the stock car series, which plans to resume spectator-free competition starting May 17 at the Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.
