Even after the positive return of Ronaldo Souza and two COVID-19 cornermen on Friday evening, UFC 249 will continue as planned in Jacksonville, Florida.
Throughout the week of combat, the UFC tried to enforce security and social distancing guidelines at the host hotel, where around 300 people stayed. Tonight these people are all moving to the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, which will be empty except for fighters, their corners and only essential promotion, commission and production staff.
This will include individually spaced tables at the edge of the cage for the team of commentators by Jon Anik, Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier, who offered a tour of what things will look like (via Twitter).
What’s this @ufc 249 looks like. Tables apart. Very spaced. A little different but it’s okay because the fights are back !!!!!!! LFG
There’s also this 360-degree view of the arena from the UFC (via Instagram):
We hope that we will spend the night and two events next week without anyone else catching COVID-19.
