LOS ANGELES (AP) – Wendy Williams takes a break from her daytime talk show to receive treatment for a previously announced health condition.
Williams is tired from the symptoms of Graves’ disease, a spokesperson for the “Wendy Williams Show” said on Monday.
As a precaution, the spokesperson said, Williams will take leave of the program, which she is recording remotely from her home in New York during the pandemic.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Wendy back soon and continuing the shows at Wendy @ Home,” said a broadcast statement. No return date has been announced.
Reruns of the Williams show will be broadcast during his absence.
In 2018, Williams announced that she had Graves’ disease, which causes an overproduction of thyroid hormones and can cause many symptoms and affect overall health.
Her show stopped production for several weeks at the time, and she was again on hiatus early last year as Williams faced trouble and a shoulder injury.
In October 2017, Williams passed out on stage during her show, later claiming that she had overheated while wearing a bulky Halloween costume.
