“Way Too Late”: in the biggest Amazon epidemic

In the 600,000 square foot warehouse where Ms. Kelly worked, in the township of Hazle, products shipped from China and elsewhere are removed from trucks and broken down into small packages that are trucked to other Amazon facilities for be shipped to buyers. Security measures started arriving at the warehouse in mid-March, but were introduced loosely. When a team that oversaw security protocols posed for a photo on March 17, dressed in green for St. Patrick’s Day, their members stood side by side, without social distancing. Yellow tape marked six-foot increments on a main gangway, but many people worked much more closely together, said Ms. Kelly, “like every other day.”
